Our Guarantees
Written, explained in plain English, and the same on every job we quote.
There are two different things people mean when they talk about a "roof guarantee", and they are not the same. We separate them on every quote so there is no ambiguity later.
1. Workmanship guarantee — 2 years
This is our guarantee, and it covers the installation. If the work we carried out fails because of how it was installed — a flashing we refitted that lifts, a ridge we re-bedded that slips, a membrane we welded that peels at the joint — we come back and put it right at no cost to you.
The workmanship guarantee does not cover the roof continuing to age, storm damage that happens after we have left, or damage caused by someone else working on the roof after us.
2. Manufacturer material guarantee — up to 25 years
The products we install carry their own manufacturer guarantees, which run separately from ours and are typically much longer. These cover the material itself failing — an EPDM membrane that perishes, a slate that delaminates, a tile that cracks — rather than the way it was fitted.
The exact length for your job depends on the product and is confirmed in your written quote. Where a manufacturer warranty applies, we pass the certificate and the paperwork to you on completion, so you can claim directly if you ever need to.
3. Public liability insurance
Every job we carry out is covered by our public liability insurance. That means if our work causes damage to your property or to a neighbouring property, you are covered. We will provide the certificate of insurance on request.
4. What is not covered
To be straightforward about the limits:
- Damage caused by storms, impact or third parties after we have finished.
- Work carried out by another contractor after ours, including anyone who "had a go" at a leak.
- Failure of a material beyond its manufacturer guarantee, which is a claim on the manufacturer.
- General wear and tear on an ageing roof that was already at the end of its life when we inspected it.
If we think a fault is ours, we fix it. If it is not, we will tell you honestly and point you to whoever can help.
5. How to make a claim
- Call us on +44 798 521 4992 or email hello@ksroofmaster.com and quote your reference from the written quote.
- We will arrange an inspection, usually within We aim to inspect within 48 hours of booking across central London.
- We tell you in writing whether the fault is covered and what happens next.
6. Pricing
Inspections are free. All prices are indicative and confirmed in your written quote before work begins. For emergency work, the call-out fee is £195 and is quoted in full before we start.
7. Questions we get asked
Is the guarantee transferable if I sell the property?
The workmanship guarantee follows the work, so it transfers with the property for the remaining term. Manufacturer material warranties are usually transferable too, provided the property has not been altered in a way the manufacturer excludes.
Do you guarantee emergency work differently?
No. Emergency repairs carry the same workmanship guarantee as planned work. What differs is the timing: an emergency call-out is a temporary fix to stop the damage, and we will quote for the permanent repair separately rather than bundling the two together.
Will you put the guarantee in writing?
Yes. Every quote we issue states the guarantee that applies to that job.
